Averians

Rumor has it that an Averian’s claw is able to kill a bison in a single swipe, and that their wings can slice even the toughest rock. Through millenniums of horrifying stories passed down from generations to generations, the people of Uyuru developed a hatred towards these magnificent creatures that once ruled the sky. Now killed as trophies, the Averians are forced into hiding, only to come out at night to stretch their wings.

 

This story follows Uyuru boy, Dechen, who dreams of soaring the sky and his strange friendship with a mysterious Averian that saved his life when his makeshift wings invention failed on him. But not everyone is quite as thrilled with this budding friendship as Dechen might have thought.
